Toyota Motor Corp. plans to release in North America in 2006 a hybrid version of the Camry, according to the Japanese daily Yomiuri Shimbun on November 4. Toyota hopes to sell tens of thousands of the cars in the first year, aiming to dominate the hybrid car market in the United States, according to the newspaper report. Japan’s top automaker hopes to sell 47,000 hybrid Prius cars this year and 100,000 next year, Toyota officials said.
