The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) reported that it had its entire fleet out trying to keep the state's highways clear of snow and safe for motorists during the Dec. 29 storm. Here are some UDOT snow removal statistics: 16,253-plus lane miles cleared, 32,000-plus tons of salt used, 840 tons of grit used, 616 employees worked 38,010 hours, and snow removal cost $3,673,160
