Toyota Motor Corp. unveiled its Harrier SUV, which will be sold as the RX330 this spring under Toyota’s Lexus luxury line, according to a Reuters report. The Harrier SUV will be the first Lexus model produced outside of Japan. The company is hoping for sales of 9,000 Harriers a month in the US market. Initially, the vehicle will be produced at Toyota’s Kyushu plant in southern Japan with the vehicle exported to the US. This fall production will begin in Canada at the rate of 5,000 units a month. The Harrier will feature a new safety system, a "pre-crash" system that detects an object in front of the vehicle and tightens the seatbelt in advance if a collision cannot be avoided, reports Reuters.
