Chrysler Group is holding an employee awareness event at its headquarters this week (May 14 – 18) as part of the first National Mobility Awareness Month. In addition, the automaker launched a new website focusing on its mobility solutions, www.chryslerautomobility.com. The site details Chrysler’s mobility solutions and provides contact information for interested retail and fleet customers.

The site also provides details on a rebate (up to a maximum of $1,000) for the cost of installing adaptive driver or passenger equipment. According to the FAQ on the website, certain types of fleet sales may qualify for the rebate.

On May 15, the Chrysler event features an exhibit of vehicles converted for use by individuals with mobility restrictions and will run from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The automaker said it will have static displays at its headquarters through May 18.

“Chrysler Group was the first automaker to offer a commitment to lighten the financial burden of adaptive equipment installation on vehicles within the United States,” said Steven Beahm, Vice President – U.S. Sales Operations. “We are proud to host this important event with some of the industry’s leading conversion companies displaying the latest in adaptive driver and passenger equipment and vehicle conversions.”

Chrysler also said that as part of this program, its designers and engineers will be meeting with upfitters in order to examine the latest equipment designed to give people with disabilities access to, and the ability to operate, a vehicle.
