Subaru's 2017 Forester compact SUV starts at $22,595, an increase of $200 from the 2016 Forester for a vehicle that upgrades the fascia and headlights and offers new available equipment.

Subaru will offer eight Forester models for 2017, including the 2.5i PZEV with a 6-speed manual ($22,595), 2.5i PZEV with CVT ($23,595), 2.5i Premium PZEV with the 6-speed manual ($25,495), 2.5i Premium PZEV with CVT ($25,995), 2.5i Limited PZEV with CVT ($29,195), 2.5i Touring PZEV with CVT ($31,295), 2.0XT Premium with CVT ($29,295), and 2.0XT Touring with CVT ($34,295).

These prices don't include a delivery fee of $875.

Subaru has upgraded the optional EyeSight safety package by adding Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Subaru will also add a feature known as reverse automatic braking.

The 2017 Forester delivers an EPA-rated fuel economy of 32 mpg on the highway, 26 mpg in the city, and 28 mpg combined.
