Audi and Google plan to announce plans at the Consumer Electronics Show next week to develop an Android-based in-car entertainment system, sources told the Wall Street Journal.

The Android-based platform would "allow drivers and passengers to access music, navigation, apps and services that are similar to those widely available now on Android-powered smartphones," according to the report.

Audi is an automaker on the leading edge of integrating technology into vehicles. Audio announced earlier this year it would bring 4G LTE connectivity to the 2015 A3 sedan.
