GM Cancels Week of Downtime at Plant to Build More Chevrolet Cruzes

United Auto Workers Union 1112 posted on its website that General Motors will be producing Chevrolet Cruze sedans at the Lordstown, Ohio, plant during what had been a week of scheduled downtime.

According to GM’s July sales numbers, total sales for the Chevrolet Cruze are up 70 percent, at 25,447 units, in July 2013, compared to the 14,954 sold in July, 2012. For the year, Chevrolet Cruze sales are up 23 percent (Jan. to July, 2013), at 159,136, compared with 128,838 during that same period in 2012.
