Carfax Online Database Now Boasts More than 6 Billion Records
CENTREVILLE, VA --- Carfax recently announced its online database of vehicle history information now exceeds 6 billion records.
More than 22,000 sources, such as state DMVs, police departments and insurance companies, report vehicle history information that's housed in the Carfax database (www.carfax.com). Millions of used car buyers rely on this information throughout their shopping experience to help them find safe, reliable used cars that best meet their needs.

Using the unique 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN), consumers and dealers can unlock all the information reported to Carfax for a specific vehicle. Through partnerships with many of the country's largest dealer groups, 27 manufacturer Certified Pre-Owned programs and leading online marketplaces like AutoTrader.com and Cars.com, consumers have access to free Carfax Vehicle History Reports many places used cars are sold.
