LINCOLN, Neb. --- During the federal "Operation Safe Driver" campaign, which ran Oct. 21-28, Nebraska state troopers issued 110 speeding tickets to drivers of commercial vehicles and 506 speeding tickets to drivers of noncommercial vehicles, the Southwest Nebraska News reported. The campaign, launched by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, was aimed at cracking down on unsafe drivers and educating the public about safe driving practices. The Nebraska State Patrol Carrier Enforcement and Traffic Services Divisions coordinated the program in Nebraska with the FMCSA and CVSA.
