GM is recalling approximately 38,048 model-year 2017-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 truck due to seat belt torsion bar issues.
The XLP platform is expected to begin shipping on select configurations of the Chevrolet and GMC Silverado/Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD pickup trucks in the first quarter of 2021, and Chevrolet and GMC 3500 and 4500 cutaway chassis in the second quarter of 2021.
With a max tow rating of 35,500 lbs., the 2020 Sierra 2500/3500 diesel provides 52% more towing capability than its previous model year.
The 2020 GMC Sierra HD goes on sale later this year in 2500HD and 3500HD dual rear wheel and single rear wheel configurations. The trucks, when properly equipped, can tow in excess of 30,000 pounds.
