Jim Frank, president of Wheels, Inc., discussed the trends he sees evolving for the fleet industry in the next century. For instance, he stated that inflation will not impact the global economy, fleet management companies will focus on better customer service to compete for business, and a higher focus will be placed on driver productivity.

NAFA's 1996 Fleet Institute Exposition allowed nearly 2,500 attendees to discuss the latest products and technologies with almost 400 industry suppliers, manufactures, and fleet management companies.

Toyota exhibited its all-new RAV4 sport/utility vehicle at the Fleet Institute Expo. Toyota recently announced its plans to market an electric-powered version, known as the RAV4-EV to fleets starting in 1998. According to Toyota, the electric-powered sport/utility will have a combined city/highway range of 118 miles per charge.
