Brian Wielgosz has been named director of fleet operations for McCarthy Tire Service,one of nation's largest commercial tire dealer, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Prior to his new post, Wielgosz was head, North American fleet & ground transportation services, for Sanofi. Wielgosz held this position for 11 years from June 2011 to January 2023.

While at Sanofi, Wielgosz had overall accountability for a 3,000-plus commercial vehicle fleet with an annual spend of more than $40 million. He also was responsible for the company’s rental car and livery vehicle programs, including executive chauffeur services, which had an annual spend of $8 million.

Prior to his last position at Sanofi, Wielgosz was senior project manager, North American employee transportation from January 2009 to May 2011. In this position, Wielgosz was responsible for supporting the North American corporate travel and fleet programs.

Earlier, Wielgosz was manager, U.S. Fleet Operations for Sanofi from December 2007 to December 2009, responsible for providing operational oversight of the U.S. Pharmaceutical Division fleet program. He managed an inventory of 10,000 vehicles, including acquisition, disposal and transfers.

Wielgosz started his career at Sanofi as manager, business analysis & sales support, where he served from December 2005 to December 2008. He was responsible for supporting the marketing and sales operations function that included: serving as the U.S. fleet vehicle administrator, managing sales territory alignments, and developing sales force productivity reporting.
