WestStart-Calstart joins the efforts of two Western state national parks to add alternative fuel vehicles and clean transportation options into their park fleets and shuttle operations. Point Reyes National Seashore in northern California and Mount Ranier National Park in Washington have entered into agreements for WestStart-Calstart to perform alternative-fuel vehicle studies and create alternative-fuel vehicle implementation plans, as well as public education programs on the use of clean fuel vehicles at the parks. Clean fuels being considered in the parks are electric, hybrid-electric, natural gas, propane, and other alternatives to gasoline and diesel. Both of these national park projects are funded through grants from the Federal Transit Administration.
