VW Reveals Pricing for Jetta MY-22

VW Reveals Pricing for Jetta MY-22

The new models feature exterior styling enhancements, new standard tech, and revised trim offerings.

On Nov. 1, Volkswagen of America, Inc. announced pricing for the 2022 Jetta and Jetta GLI, starting at $20,195 and $30,995, respectively.

The new Jetta vehicles feature updated technology and styling. The 2022 Jetta will come in four trim levels, while the GLI will be offered in one fully-loaded Autobahn trim. New for 2022 is the Jetta Sport trim, which features the XDS electronic differential lock and dark graphite 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels as standard, along with a blacked-out grille, mirror caps, and window trim, a black headliner, and cloth sport seats. The Sport trim is positioned just above the base S trim.

The new Jetta adopts the 1.5L turbocharged and direct-injection EA211 engine found in the Taos compact SUV, making 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The Jetta GLI is powered by the 2.0L EA888 engine, producing 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on both Jetta and Jetta GLI, with the eight-speed automatic optional for the Jetta and a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission available on the GLI.

On the outside, the Jetta and GLI get a style update with new front and rear bumpers, new colors, and unique wheel designs for each trim. Inside, the Jetta and GLI boast upgraded technology and design updates throughout their cabins — including standard Volkswagen Digital Cockpit and Volkswagen Car-Net with in-car Wi-Fi capability when you subscribe to a data plan. IQ.DRIVE driver assistance technology is available from the entry Jetta trim, and standard on GLI.

Jetta Model Lineup

S: The Jetta S starts at $20,195 MSRP for a manual transmission and $20,995 MSRP for an automatic transmission and features 16-inch two-tone aluminum-alloy wheels; LED headlights and taillights, with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs); automatic headlights; power-adjustable, manual-folding, heated side mirrors; chrome front grille and exterior window surround; interior chrome package; center and door armrest stitching; cloth seats; Volkswagen Digital Cockpit with 8-inch display; Car-Net; Composition Color infotainment with 6.5-inch display; App-Connect; Front Assist (Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring); Blind Spot Monitor; and Rear Traffic Alert.

The IQ.DRIVE package is available on automatic transmission S trims for $955 and upgrades the driver assistance technology with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Assist (Lane Keeping System), Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist. Manual transmission S trims offer a Driver Assistance package, which includes all the above features with the exception of Emergency Assist, for $955. A no-charge Convenience Package, which comes with the IQ.DRIVE or Driver Assistance packages, adds rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

SportBuilding from the S trim, the Jetta Sport starts at $21,095 MSRP for manual and $21,895 MSRP for automatic. Standard features include: 17-inch black alloy wheels; XDS differential; black grille, window trim, and mirror caps; unique cloth sport comfort seats; and a black headliner.

Sport trims offer the same IQ.DRIVE (automatic only), Driver Assistance (manual only), and Convenience packages as the S trim, at the same price point.  

SE: The SE model is priced at $23,795 MSRP and is only offered with an automatic transmission. In addition to the features included on the S trim, the SE features: 17-inch alloy wheels; rain-sensing wipers; auto-dimming rearview mirror; KESSY keyless entry and push-button start; leather-wrapped steering wheel; Climatronic automatic climate control; six-way power driver sport comfort seat; heated front seats; leatherette seating surfaces; and IQ.DRIVE driver assistance technology.

A panoramic sunroof is available for $850, and 17-inch dark graphite alloy wheels are available for $395.

SEL: Building from the SE trim, the Jetta SEL starts at $27,795 MSRP and is only offered with an automatic transmission. Standard features include: projector LEDs with Volkswagen’s Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS); sunroof; cold weather package with heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, and heated windshield wiper park and washer nozzles; power driver seat with memory and lumbar support; leather seating surfaces; ventilated front seats; three-line door card stitching; ambient lighting; Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro with 10.25-inch display; Discover Media infotainment with 8.0-inch display and navigation; voice control; wireless charging and wireless App-Connect for compatible devices; SiriusXM with 360L (3-month Premium Plan trial); premium BeatsAudio sound system with nine speakers; and Light Assist (High Beam Control for headlights).

Jetta GLI

The sportier Jetta GLI is offered in one trim — Autobahn — and MRSP starts at $30,995 for manual transmission and $31,795 MSRP for automatic transmission. The Black Package is available for $595 and features black 18-inch alloy wheels, along with a black roof, black mirror caps and a black spoiler.
