Volvo Cars has unveiled its 2019 S60 luxury sedan and will offer it as part of the Care by Volvo subscription service in addition to traditional financing and leasing options, the company has announced.
The S60 will be available via Care by Volvo for at least $775 per month. Volvo started the program earlier this year with the XC40 crossover, which costs $600 per month for insurance, service, and maintenance. The S60 will be the first Volvo vehicle manufactured in the U.S., and will be assembled at a new plan in Ridgeville, South Carolina.
Volvo will offer the S60 in three trims, including Momentum, R-Design, and Inscription. Volvo will offer three powertrains, including the T5 with a turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 250 horsepower, the T6 with a turbo- and supercharged engine that makes 316 hp, and the T8 plug-in hybrid that makes 400 hp that includes a rear electric motor that makes 87 hp.
The T5 model delivers power to a front-wheel drivetrain, while the T6 and T8 offer standard all-wheel drive. Pricing has been set for the T5 at $35,800 (Momentum), $41,900 (R-Design), and $42,900 (Inscription). Pricing for the T6 has been set at $40,300, $45,400, and $47,400. Pricing for the PHEV has been set at $54,400 (R-Design) and $55,400 (Inscription). Buyers must also pay a $995 delivery fee.
The subscription plan pricing has been set at $775 for the T6 AWD Momentum and $850 for the T6 R-Design. Both are all-wheel-drive models. Volvo will also offer the T8 AWD Polestar and will announce pricing later.
The insurance coverage provided as part of Care by Volvo comes through Liberty Mutual Insurance and provides customers with $250,000 bodily injury protection per person and $500,000 bodily injury coverage per accident with a $500 deductible for comprehensive and collision coverage.
