Toyota Recalls RAV4, Lexus HS 250h for Suspension
The recall covers approximately 337,000 older vehicles that need replacement rear suspension arm assemblies.

Toyota Motor Sales USA is recalling approximately 337,000 2006-2011 model-year Toyota RAV4 and 2010-MY Lexus HS 250h vehicles so dealers can replace both rear suspension arm assemblies with new ones, the automaker said.
Additionally, an epoxy will be applied to prevent future arm adjustment during vehicle service, Toyota said. There will be no charge for these services.
The vehicles were previously recalled in 2012 because of rear suspension problems. The following year, they were recalled again because the nuts used in the 2012 remedy weren't properly tightened. Toyota has now opted for a different fix because of the potential for corrosion.
“In the earlier action, if the nuts for adjusting rear wheel alignment were improperly tightened when an alignment was performed, rust could form on suspension arm threads,” Toyota explained in a released statement about the new recall. “If this occurs, and if the condition is not identified and remedied during servicing or repair under the existing remedy procedure, the threads can wear over time, causing the arm to separate, which could result in a loss of vehicle control.”
