SGS Offers Dealers New Internet Sales Program

SGS Automotive Services and Ebay Motors have partnered to offer automotive dealers a turnkey service for the inspection and posting of used vehicles over the Internet.

SGS Automotive Services, an independent vehicle inspection company, has signed a joint marketing agreement with Ebay Motors to offer automotive dealers a turnkey service for the inspection and posting of used vehicles over the Internet. “The Internet is potentially the most efficient marketplace ever created for the sale of used vehicles,” said Kurt Biggar, SGS vice president of sales and marketing. According to Biggar, the company’s new service, SGS Dealer Assist, is designed to make Internet sales more accessible and profitable for automotive dealers. The Dealer Assist program includes a 150-point inspection of each vehicle offered for sale, providing an independent vehicle condition assessment. SGS then posts the vehicle on eBay Motors and provides a link to the inspection report and digital photos. The service also features comprehensive data collection and management, auction strategy assistance, and customer help through the SGS Customer Service Center. Dealer Assist staff have completed training from the eBay Motors Dealer Assistant program and can help dealers expand Internet sales. “Our new service should enable dealers to either launch their Internet sales programs or take an existing program to a new level,” said Terry Mollica, SGS senior account executive.
