U.S. News & World Report has named the 2015 Ram 1500 the Best Full -Size Truck for the Money. In the site's ranking of vehicle choices, Ram 1500 scored the highest among full-size pickups available to U.S. buyers. Within its class, the Ram 1500 took top honors for its outstanding value and critical acclaim, according to the award's organizers. This is the 2nd year in a row Ram’s half-ton entry has won the award.
"This award from U.S. News Best Cars recognizes the quality and value of our Ram 1500 in what will continue to be a highly competitive segment," said Bob Hegbloom, president and CEO – Ram Truck Brand. "Ram is committed to technology and innovation leadership. Proof of that commitment is a long list of best-in-class titles, including America’s most fuel efficient pickup at 29 mpg."
The rankings are based on an in-depth analysis by U.S. News editors of all published vehicle ratings, reviews, and test drives.
“In addition to being a fully capable full-size pickup truck, reviewers say the 1500 has the smoothest ride in the class and first-class cabin materials that make it feel like a luxury car,” said Jamie Page Deaton, managing editor – U.S. News Best Cars. “The Ram 1500 also has an available diesel engine with plenty of grunt for towing, as well as great fuel economy.”
The Best Cars for the Money methodology combines quality and value data into a composite score. Within each of 21 categories, the vehicle with the highest score is named the Best Car for the Money in that category. Quality is measured by the overall score achieved in the U.S. News car rankings at the time the awards are published. Value is measured by five-year total cost of ownership and the average price paid for the vehicle at the time the awards are published.
