Chrysler on March 27, 2002 revealed the production version of its all-new 2004 Chrysler Pacifica at the New York International Auto Show. Chrysler Pacifica, which represents a new vehicle segment called "sports tourer," will go on sale in the spring of 2003 as a 2004 model. Production of the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica will begin in early 2003 at Chrysler Group's Windsor Assembly Plant. While Pacifica will be built in the same plant as Chrysler and Dodge minivans, the vehicle will not be built on any one of the company's short- or long-wheelbase minivan platforms. Pacifica will be built on its own new, unique platform, but will use existing corporate compo-nents, including the same 3.5-liter V6 engine that powers the Chrysler 300M. Features of the Pacifica include a 3.5-liter SOHC 24-valve V-6 engine, four-speed automatic transaxle with AutoStick Independent front and rear suspension; first-class seating in first and second rows; leather-trimmed seats; second row bucket seats with seat-mounted armrests and fore-aft-recline and fold-flat capabilities; eated first- and second-row seats; 10-way power driver seat; four-way power passenger seat; power liftgate; and power sunroof.
