Nissan's 2020 Rogue Sport will enter its fourth model year as the U.S. Qashqai with a fresh exterior and revised trim levels and option packages, the automaker announced at the Chicago Auto Show. It's set to go on sale in the fall.

The enhancements follow several upgrades for the 2019 Rogue Sport, such as available ProPilot Assist driver-assisting technology and the Safety Shield 360 bundle, an updated audio system, and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

With the 2020 updates, Nissan is hoping to differentiate its Rogue Sport from its Rogue with a new front fascia that features a new hood, Vmotion grille, and bumper. The vehicle adds LED Daytime Running Lights. The rear adds a combination light design that matches the front.

Nissan is making its Safety Shield 360 standard on all Rogue Sport models, including the base S. The package includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, lane departure warning, radar-based blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, and high beam assist.

The Rogue Sport will be offered again in S, SV, and SL models that are powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine that delivers 141 peak horsepower through an Xtronic CVT with Eco mode.

The Rogue Sport has helped bolster small-SUV sales for Nissan, which reports it as part of Rogue sales. In 2018, Nissan sold 412,110 Rogue and Rogue Sport crossovers, which ranked second among all SUV nameplates. In 2017, Nissan increased Rogue-based sales by 73,561 to 403,465 units.
