Nissan has promoted Dan Mohnke to lead its U.S. sales efforts to replace the departing Derrick Hatami, and appointed a new director of fleet sales earlier this summer.
Mohnke takes on the role of vice president for sales and marketing operations immediately to replace Hatami, who left for a similar role with Hyundai. Mohnke, who formerly served as Nissan's chief marketing manager, will be responsible for day-to-day sales as well as Nissan's vehicle operations and light commercial vehicle and fleet functions.
On June 1, Nissan promoted Joe Guarascio to director of sales for commercial vehicles and fleet. Guarascio had been a senior manager in the fleet unit reporting to Matt Burhart, who transfered to Nissan's U.S. Aftersales unit. Guarascio now reports to Mohnke.

Mohnke now reports to Fred Diaz, Nissan's senior vice president for sales and marketing and operations. Mohnke joined Nissan in July of 2006 in the area of dealer network development.
"Aligning sales and marketing operations into a singular role allows us to maintain momentum as we continue to enhance our performance and further accelerate sales growth in the U.S.," Diaz said.
Michael Bunce, vice president of Nissan's light commercial vehicle business unit, remains in his more globally-focused role and continues to report to Diaz and Philippe Guérin-Boutaud, corporate vice president for the global light commercial vehicle business unit, a Nissan spokesman told Automotive-Fleet.com.
