Mike Lahr announced his retirement as president of Lahr Logistics Consulting, a company he formed in April 2021. Prior to starting his consulting company, Lahr was vice president logistics for Energy Solutions in Knoxville, Tenn., a position he held from May 2014 to 2019. While there, he led the Hittman Transport, Rail Logistics, Cask Logistics, MHF Logistics and Heritage Short Line Railroad Operations, including profit and loss (P&L) responsibility, asset management, and operational oversight. Lahr also managed the PHTS trucking operations located in Canada.

Earlier, Lahr was director of fleet/logistics operations for LKQ Corp. from October 1999 to February 2014. He was responsible for 5,200 pieces of fleet equipment, logistics, 500-plus facilities, corporate programs, and integration of acquisitions. While at LKQ Corp., Lahr won the PHH productivity award for 2009 using telematics to increase the number of stops fleet drivers were able to make per day, dramatically reduced overtime costs, improved driver safety, and reduced fuel costs.

Lahr started his career in fleet and logistics working as a national account executive at Penske Logistics and Ruan Transportation Management Systems. While at Ruan, Lahr sold dedicated contract carriage and was awarded to the Million Dollar Club several years in a row.
