MONTVALE, NJ - Mercedes-Benz will have no less than four debuts at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show, including the all-new SLS AMG, according to www.carconnection.com.
The 563 horsepower SLS AMG will be joined by two new fuel efficient models in the form of the E350 BlueTEC and ML450 Hybrid. Both cars offer very different powertrains but are aimed at helping to reduce fuel consumption. The E350 BlueTEC diesel, for example, offers 30-percent better fuel economy than the comparable E350 gasoline model, while the ML450 Hybrid is 46-percent more efficient than the comparable ML550 V-8.
Also making its U.S. debut will be the B-Class but the one planned for local consumption is a very special hydrogen-powered model. Dubbed the B-Class F-Cell, the environmentally friendly vehicle has better performance than a 2.0L gasoline model but with a zero-emission drive system that achieves the equivalent of 71 mpg of diesel and a range of 240 miles. Deliveries in the U.S. are expected to start early next year.
Finally, Mercedes-Benz will also be showcasing its new Splitview technology in the S-Class. Splitview is a single display screen that allows the driver and front passenger to view two different programs at the same time. For example, the driver can view the navigation system, while on the very same display screen, the front passenger can watch a movie.
