Manheim Announces Promotions at Two Florida Auto Auctions

Manheim announced that Butch Herdegen has been named general manager of Central Florida Auto Auction in Orlando.

Manheim announced that Butch Herdegen has been named general manager of Central Florida Auto Auction in Orlando. He succeeds Rob Mowers, who has joined a corporate special projects team. Herdegen previously served as general manager of Orlando Orange County Auto Auction. Ellen Westpfahl remains as auction manager at Central Florida Auto Auction, and Tony Markese joins the management team as assistant general manager. He formerly served as regional controller. Greg Price, formerly assistant general manager at Lakeland Auto Auction in Lakeland, Fla., has been promoted to auction manager of Orlando Orange County Auto Auction. Barry McCammon is transferring to Orlando Orange County Auto Auction from Central Florida Auto Auction as assistant general manager. Mowers joined Manheim in January 1977 as a management trainee at Manheim Auto Auction in Manheim, Pa. In 1978, Mowers was named assistant general manager at California Auto Dealers Exchange in Anaheim, Calif. In 1982, he transferred to National Auto Dealers Exchange in Bordentown, N.J., as assistant general manager. In January 1984, he was promoted to general manager of American Auto Auction in Walpole, Mass. Four years later, he was named general manager of Riverside Auto Auction in Riverside, Calif. In 1992, Mowers was named general manager of Southern California Auto Auction in Fontana, Calif. In 1994, he became general manager of Florida Auto Auction of Orlando in Ocoee, Fla., and of Central Florida Auto Auction in Orlando. In 1996, Mowers was promoted to vice president of operations, region IV. In 2001, he became vice president of operations, region VI, a position he held until being named general manager of Central Florida Auto Auction later in the same year. Herdegen joined Manheim in 1998 when the company purchased the Orlando Orange County Auto Auction. At the time, he was auction manager and had 16 years of experience in the auto auction business. In 2001, Herdegen was promoted to general manager of the facility. Markese began his career with Manheim in 1998 as controller at Florida Auto Auction of Orlando. He brought with him 10 years of accounting experience in both the public and private sectors. In 2000, he was promoted to regional controller – Florida region. Price joined Manheim in January 2001 as assistant general manager of Central Florida Auto Auction. He brought with him about 20 years of experience in the auto auction business. In March 2002, he was named assistant general manager of Lakeland Auto Auction. McCammon has been with Manheim since October 1997 when he joined Central Florida Auto Auction as check-in manager. He brought with him four years of auto auction experience. In 1999, he was named operations manager. In 2001, McCammon was named assistant general manager of the facility.
