Loomis, Fargo & Co., an armored cash in-transit company based in Houston, has signed a multi-year agreement for PS Energy to manage its fuel purchasing program, it was announced on Sept. 26, 2001. Loomis, Fargo & Co. has a 2,500-vehicle fleet consisting of medium- and heavy-duty trucks, vans, and cars. The purchasing agreement includes PS Energy managing Loomis, Fargo & Co.’s fuel card program and its mobile fueling program. PS Energy will be issuing Voyager cards to Loomis, Fargo & Co. drivers and orchestrating mobile fueling for its locations nationwide. PS Energy also offers Wright Express and MasterCard. Tommy Harden, executive vice president, fleet management, for Loomis, Fargo & Co. said that when the company needs fuel in a certain location, PS Energy will locate vendors in that area and negotiate fuel pricing with those vendors. “PS Energy will use its purchasing power to get us better pricing,” Harden said in an interview with Automotive Fleet. “This involves administrative savings in addition to lower fuel costs, and they give us one bill that is delivered electronically with detail for all underlying transactions.” The information is available at PS Energy’s Web site, which allows access for designated administrative personnel.
