Jeep’s CEO Mike Manley remains a “big fan of a Jeep pickup,” according to a recent interview with the Detroit News. Manley also added that the company’s history “says it belongs in our portfolio.”
Although Jeep has not produced a pickup since the Comanche, which was modeled after the Cherokee compact SUV, the company continues to experiment with concept vehicles such as the Jeep J-12 and Jeep Gladiator. The unveiling of these concept vehicles takes place around the same time as the annual Moab Jeep Safari. The 2015 Easter Jeep Safari takes place March 28 through April 5.
Although Manley has favors creating a Jeep pickup, he admits the company has “higher priorities,” he told the Detroit News.
