Honda's CR-V adds sportier features for 2015, including a more efficient direct-injected gasoline engine, new transmission, and a suite of safety technologies.
Honda will offer the CR-V in four trim levels, including the LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring. The EX-L model is also available with a navigation option.
The 2015 CR-V gets Honda's new 2.4L direct-injected four-cylinder engine that produces the same 185 hp as its predecessor but adds 11 percent more torque to 163 lb.-ft. The engine is now paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a "G-shift design" that provide smoother ratio changes.
The vehicle in front-wheel drive gets an EPA-rated 27/34/29 mpg city/highway/combined. In all-wheel drive, the CR-V is rated at 26/33/28 mpg in the same cycles.
New safety technologies available as options include Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and driver assistive features that includes Forward Collision Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning and Honda LaneWatch.
