Manheim has announced that Hatfield Auto Auction in Hatfield, Pa., marked its 40th year with DaimlerChrysler by selling all 1,000 vehicles that ran across the block at its Home Run Derby sales event held June 10. “This was one of our best sales of the year in the Northeast, in regards to prices and dealer attendance,” said Steve Solomon, regional manager for DaimlerChrysler Remarketing. “We had more than 200 dealerships represented, and we achieved a 100-percent sale ratio.” More than 52 dealers participated in the sale via Manheim Simulcast, an online service that enables dealers to purchase vehicles remotely as they run through the lanes. Online dealers purchased 81 vehicles. Hatfield Auto Auction transformed its first three lanes into a baseball park for the special sale. The highest-volume buyer of the day, Dover CP of New Jersey, which bought 78 vehicles, won a trip to Los Cabos, Mexico. In addition, Hamilton Chrysler Plymouth of New Jersey won a trip to the Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. The event was part of a special campaign marking the 40th year that DaimlerChrysler has been selling vehicles at Manheim auctions. Each of Manheim’s DaimlerChrysler factory sale locations will host a 40th anniversary/Home Run Derby sale by October.
