Group to Streamline Access to EV Charging
BMW and Nissan have formed a coalition with three EV charging network that would allow a driver to use a single EV charging network account to access CarCharging/Blink, ChargePoint, and NRG EVgo stations.

BMW and Nissan have formed a coalition with three EV charging network that would allow a driver to use a single EV charging network account to access CarCharging/Blink, ChargePoint, and NRG EVgo stations.
The ROEV Association, which announced its formation at the Los Angeles Auto Show, describes itself as an alliance of industry stakeholders that plans to adopt and promote interoperability standards.
Currently, U.S. drivers may have multiple accounts with various EV charging networks. This means they might have to carry multiple access cards and use a variety of different apps just to find stations.
ROEV is looking to expand its membership and include more EV stakeholders in the group. Several new companies have already joined the association, including Audi, Honda, Efacec, Portland General Electric, SemaConnect, and BTC Power. ROEV expects that charging network interoperability will increase the appeal of electric car ownership to an even larger number of drivers in the U.S.
Together, ROEV's founding partners operate more than 17,500 (91%) of public, networked EV charging ports in the U.S.
