GM’s Virtual Solutions Summit Presents Vision of the Future

General Motors is hosting its first ever Virtual Solutions Summit for fleet customers, which opened on Aug. 25, 2020, and serves as an online showroom where attendees can view in depth-videos on products and services and the current state and future of General Motors and GM Fleet.

General Motors is hosting its first ever Virtual Solutions Summit for fleet customers, which opened on Aug. 25, 2020, and serves as an online showroom where attendees can view in depth-videos on products and services from the automaker’s subject-matter experts and features presentations from top GM leaders on the current state and future of General Motors and GM Fleet. 

“Our goal is to provide you with solutions. Solutions for you and your organization. Solutions to help you succeed,” said Ed Peper, U.S. VP, General Motors Fleet, about the Virtual Solutions Summit.

The event features virtual presentations from key GM leaders, including Peper of General Motors Fleet; Mary Barra, chairman and CEO, General Motors; Mark Reuss, president, General Motors; and Steve Carlisle, executive VP and president, GM North America.

During the summit attendees have access to details on General Motors' latest light-duty and heavy-duty trucks; crossovers, such as the Chevrolet Traverse and Equinox; and sedans, which is highlighted by the Chevrolet Malibu and Spark and the Cadillac CT4 and CT5. Chevrolet also offers a sneak peek of its upcoming refreshed Bolt EV and new Bolt EUV during the virtual event.

Fleet customers are also given the ability to tailor the virtual showroom to learn about products and services that best support their industries. Videos from GM’s sales, customer support, product management, and engineering teams are available to educate attendees on products and services that best serves their interest.

“Through this new platform, our engineers, commercial product managers, connected service experts, and various team leaders are all coming to you from their very own home offices,” said Peper. “They’re coming to you to share the latest news about our extensive vehicle lineup and the services we can provide to help keep your businesses moving forward."

During her presentation, Barra discusses the progress of GM’s  “zero, zero, zero initiative”: she stresses the importance autonomous vehicles will have on the future of driver safety and how crash-avoidance technology available now can help, and the importance of an all-electric future and how GM will support a greater adoption of EVs.

She also gives an overview of GM’s all-new OnStar Business Solutions, which brings four product offerings together — OnStar Safety Services, OnStar Vehicle Insights, API & Data Services, and Wi-Fi — to simplify fleet management for customers.

“We are continuously working to strengthen our existing product lineup of vehicles you can buy today, and at the same time we’re working on mobility solutions for the future through our corporate vision of a world with zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion,” said Reuss.

Another presentation includes Carlisle giving an overview on General Motors' current lineup of commercial fleet vehicles, and he also discusses the newly announced next-gen 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV and SSV for police and government fleets.

“We’re trying to create more solutions per mile than anybody else,” said Carlisle. “More solutions for you and your businesses.”

A key topic addressed during the presentation is with regards to how the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the fleet and automotive industries, and how GM is supporting the fight against the pandemic.

A digital expo is also available to help connect attendees to a wide array of GM Fleet partnered suppliers and vendors.
