WASHINGTON – General Motors is recalling 249,260 2006-2007 model-year SUVs originally sold or currently registered in states where winter use of road salts and other materials heightens the risk of corrosion.
The recall covers the following vehicles:
2006 MY Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT
2006 MY GMC Envoy XL
2006-2007 MY Buick Rainier
2006-2007 MY Chevrolet Trailblazer
2006-2007 MY GMC Envoy
2006-2007 MY Isuzu Ascender
2006-2007 MY Saab 9-7X.
In these vehicles, fluid may enter the driver’s door module, causing corrosion that could lead to a short in the circuit board. A short may cause the power door lock and power window switches to function intermittently or to stop functioning altogether. The short may also cause overheating, which poses a fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
Dealers will notify vehicle owners of the recall and the remedy plan.
Vehicles covered by the recall were originally sold, or are currently registered, in the city of Washington D.C. or any of the following states:
Connecticut
Delaware
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
Michigan
Minnesota
Missouri
New Hampshire
