Fleet purchasers of the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox compact SUV will be able to order a stand-alone model with a standard active safety package, as well as several other options not available to retail buyers, according to General Motors.

The Equinox arrives a year after it entered its third generation in the 2018 model year. The new fleet Equinox 2FL model starts with the 1LT trim, and includes a comprehensive safety package that has been unbundled from the convenience package.

"Safety is top priority for GM and for our customers," said Jason Simcoke, GM Fleet's crossover product manager. "That's why we're offering special fleet-only packages that include the latest front, side and rear advanced safety features on trim levels that meet customer’s budgets."

The safety package offers a forward collision alert, low speed forward automatic braking (up to 50 mph) with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights (Intellibeam), side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, and rear parking assist.

Fleets can add all-wheel drive and the optional convenience package with remote start, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, universal remote, and power lift gate.
