General Motors is investing $22 million in its Spring Hill, Tenn., assembly plant so it can build 6.2-liter V-8 engines with the company's Dynamic Fuel Management technology.
General Motors is investing $22 million in its Spring Hill, Tenn., assembly plant so it can build 6.2-liter V-8 engines with the company's Dynamic Fuel Management technology. The plant will begin building the 2020 Cadillac XT6 three-row SUV later this year.
The latest investment brings the total GM has invested in the plant to $2 billion since 2010.
GM's Dynamic Fuel Management is a cylinder deactivation technology that enables engines to operate in 17 different cylinder patterns to optimize performance.
The Spring Hill plant now produces the GMC Acadia, Holden Acadia, and Cadillac XT5. It opened in 1990 and employs about 3,800 people.
