GM Dealers Halt Corvette Sales to Fix Air Bags, Parking Brakes
The automaker has directed its dealers to stop selling 2,800 2015-MY Chevrolet Corvettes so potential defects can be corrected.

General Motors has directed its dealers to halt sales of about 2,800 2015-MY Chevrolet Corvettes so potential problems affecting air bags and parking brakes can be remedied, the Detroit News reports.
Few of the vehicles have already been sold to customers, GM told the newspaper. The great majority of the sports cars are still on dealer lots.
About 2,000 of the Corvettes may have a faulty part that attaches the driver’s air bag to the steering wheel. Another 800 Corvettes might have been assembled with only one of the rear parking brake cables fully seated and engaged.
Dealers will inspect the vehicles and complete any necessary repairs.
GM declined to tell the newspaper whether an official safety recall is forthcoming.
