General Motors has increased fleet deliveries into the commercial channel by eight percent in 2014 so far and tacked on a 1 percent increase for February, the automaker announced Monday.
General Motors delivered 222,104 vehicles into fleet and retail channels in February, which represented a 1 percent decline in fleet sales into commercial, government, and rental for the month. The automaker has increased commercial fleet sales for four consecutive months.
For February, GM increased commercial fleet sales while rental sales were flat and government sales were down. State and local government sales rose, while sales to federal agencies fell.
So far, the automaker has been increasing its maket share of light-duty pickup trucks. For February, sales of full-size pickup trucks were in line with January numbers.
Incentive spending increased slightly month over month as a percentage of average transaction price primarily due to the sell-down of older model heavy-duty pickup trucks and large SUVs, according to GM.
