The 114SD CNG concrete mixer is equipped with the Cummins Westport ISL G natural gas engine, which is designed for superior fuel economy, performance, and dependability with near-zero emissions, according to the manufacturer. Freightliner Trucks collaborated with McNeilus Companies to build the truck.

Built on Freightliner’s severe duty platform and designed for a variety of applications, the 114SD CNG concrete mixer is available in a wide range of vocational rear suspensions and frame options up to 5 million RBM. The concrete mixer features a heavy-duty frame, steel reinforced aluminum cab, and flexible specs.

“The combination of our severe duty concrete mixer with natural gas technology is the ideal blend of power, performance and efficiency,” said Robert Carrick, manager, natural gas sales, Freightliner Trucks. “We are providing the mixer market with another solution for customers seeking an economical way to reduce emissions and fuel costs.”

The 114SD CNG concrete mixer is part of Freightliner’s expanded severe duty vocational product line. Freightliner Trucks also displayed its 114SD set-forward axle bridge formula mixer equipped with a Detroit DD13 engine, 114SD set-back axle mixer with a Detroit DD13 engine, and 108SD set-back axle volumetric mixer featuring a Cummins ISC engine.

DTNA’s commitment to green technologies is part of parent company Daimler AG’s global “Shaping Future Transportation” initiative. Launched in 2007, the initiative is focused on reducing criteria pollutants, carbon dioxide and fuel consumption through the utilization of clean, efficient drive systems, and alternative fuels.
