Ford plans to introduce electric versions of the Ford F-150 pickup and Transit van by mid-2022, Ford COO Jim Farley said Wednesday during CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street.”
The electric F-150 was teased via a video released July 2019 of a prototype pulling a freight train. Ford introduced the electric Transit van at the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis in March.
The announcement comes amidst a surge of electric pickup model releases. Some seven models — from Ford, General Motors, Tesla, Lordstown Motors, Rivian, Bollinger, and Nikola — are expected to come to market within two years.
