Sales of vehicles to commercial fleets increased 3 percent to 60,236 in May and continued an upward trend this year, according to Automotive Fleet data.
Nine manufacturers drove fleet sales to 275,425 through the first five months of the year, which represents a 5.2 increase over the same time frame in 2014.

For the second month in a row, passenger cars drove the growth, while trucks, vans and SUVs carried the heavier volume. Passenger cars increase 34 percent in the month to 11,333, while sales of trucks, vans and SUVs fell 2.2 percent to 48,903 units.
For the year, passenger car sales to fleets have increased 12.1 percent to 50,543, while sales of trucks, vans and SUVs increased 3.8 percent to 224,882.
