Richard Corsetti, manager purchasing and global car plans for Johnston, R.I.-based FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial property insurers, will retire on April 30, 2020, following a 47-year career with the company, of which 35 were in fleet management. Corsetti was named the company’s car plan administrator in 1985. He was promoted to purchasing manager for FM Global in 2005.

FM Global, with offices worldwide, helps many of the world’s largest organizations, including one of every three Fortune 1000 companies, be better protected from the property hazards that can impact their business continuity.

Corsetti joined FM Global shortly after graduating from high school working in the company mailroom after brief stint working as a delivery milkman. At FM Global, Corsetti quickly moved up the ranks and was promoted to supervisor of the mail room and printing department and from there moved into IT. In 1985, Corsetti joined the fleet department where he worked until his retirement.

When asked what his retirement plans are, Corsetti said, “I plan to spend more time with family, friends, and my dog.” What will he miss the most about the fleet business? “The thing I will miss the most are the great relationships and interactions I have had with colleagues and other friends I have made through the years,” said Corsetti. “Fleet people are a special bunch!”
