AUBURN HILLS, MI – Chrysler is planning a number of new compact and subcompact models for the U.S. in 2012 and 2013. Originally reported in The Detroit News, Automotive Fleet contacted Chrysler to confirm its vehicle-related plans.
Rick Deneau, head of brands - Chrysler Brand, Sales, Network Development & Fleet Communication, confirmed Chrysler plans to build subcompact models for its Dodge and Chrysler brands, and build a replacement for the mid-size Chrysler 200, in 2013. The company also said it’s building a compact Dodge model that’s constructed on a widened version of the Alfa Romeo Giuletta's platform. The Detroit News article said this platform is likely for a compact Chrysler plans to introduce in 2012.
