BMW to Show New 3 Series, New 6 Series Gran Coupe, and M5 at 2012 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance

WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ – BMW will debut its all-new four-door 6 Series Gran Coupe, its new 3 Series Sedan, and its all-new fifth-generation M5 Sedan at the 2012 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. The automaker added that BMW 7 Series models will be available for public test drives on Friday and Saturday during the event. The 2012 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance runs from Friday, March 9 through Sunday, March 11.

The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is a new four-door, four plus-one seat addition to the 6 Series line. The TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder-powered 2013 BMW 640i Gran Coupe is the initial model and arrives early this summer, according to BMW. Later in the summer, the TwinPower Turbo V-8 powered 2013 BMW 650i Gran Coupe and the all-wheel drive 2013 BMW 650i xDrive Gran Coupe will join the lineup.

The all-new 2012 BMW 3 Series Sedan is the sixth-generation of the vehicle. The new 3 Series Sedan will come in three available lines: Sport, Luxury, and Modern. The new sedan will offer two BMW TwinPower Turbo engines in the US. In addition to the inline six-cylinder engine powering the 335i, BMW is offering a new turbocharged four-cylinder in the BMW 328i.

BMW is also showing its all-new 2013-MY M5. This vehicle comes with a M TwinPower Turbo V-8 engine that’s connected to a new high-torque 7-speed M-Double Clutch (M-DCT) transmission. The automaker said the 2013-MY M5 Sedan will be available in summer 2012.
