Avis Rent A Car announced on June 8 the introduction of an Internet-based information system in the rent a car industry called Avis InterActive. This Internet-based application and data warehouse is designed to provide corporate customers with current information on their car rental usage and expenses by capitalizing upon Avis'already existing rental car database. Avis InterActive is derived from Avis Group's PHH InterActive system. Avis InterActive enables corporate customers access via the Internet to aggregated information on car rental expenses and utilization as well as specific renter preferences. Avis is currently offering this system to select companies and anticipates expanding ac-cess to all eligible corporate accounts by early summer.
