The Automotive Fleet and Leasing Association (AFLA) has revealed curriculum details for its week-long, fleet focused mini-MBA program later this year, which will kick off with its first day focused on business strategy formulation and implementation.

Alan Hoffman, who has a doctorate in business administration from Indiana University, will help attendees delve into the strategic planning process using certain business strategy frameworks, business case analysis, exercises and real-world examples. AFLA has said the course is designed for fleet professionals who are looking to advance their knowledge and grow as fleet leaders.

"We’ve designed a curriculum that will allow companies to send their best and brightest people to learn about corporate leadership with an automotive fleet angle," said Bill Elliott, executive director of AFLA. "The work they put into the program along with the knowledge they gain will position them to be leaders within our industry for years to come."

Topics the program plans on addressing includes fleet leadership, strategy, finance, and negotiations. It will run from Aug. 11 to 17.

The program will be held at Bentley University in Waltham, Mass., and registration will also include six nights of lodging and meals for each day. AFLA selected the university as a result of its’ standing as a leading business school, the caliber of its faculty, and the interest administrators showed in the fleet industry. Interested fleet professional leaders are encouraged to submit their application for consideration to attend the seminal class here.

The mini-MBA program is the latest among AFLA’s opportunities for professional development. The association is also hosting the one-day AFLA Big Data Forum on March 19, which will be delivered online and in person in the Chicago area and in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Meanwhile, the 50th anniversary AFLA Corporate Fleet Conference will be held from Sept. 16 to 18 in Phoenix, Ariz.
