ADESA Corp. recently hosted a Remarketing Industry Group (ADESA RIG) meeting in Orlando, FL. To foster better industry relationships, ADESA corporate management asked dealers and manufacturers at the meeting to offer insight and counsel that address growing concerns within this market segment. The three-day intensive meeting consisted of breakout sessions where dealers, finance companies, manufacturers, and auction management discussed industry strengths along with weaknesses and innovative ways to tackle pressing issues. The end result produced a 10-point ADESA RIG strategic plan the ADESA corporate management will implement in the coming months. Although in the developmental stages, details of the plan include mutual alliances within the used-truck market to promote industry education and training, and an ADESA commitment to host dealer-only commercial vehicle sales. Dealers and manufacturers who attended the ADESA RIG meeting indicated that they will work closely with ADESA in working the RIG plan into their daily business operations, encouraging greater dealer attendance that will bolster sale prices and individual consignment of equipment.
