Hallett, a natural born Canadian citizen, and his family began the American naturalization procedure in 1999 with a mandatory Green Card status.

Once all requirements have been completed, applicants receive a decision and an oath is taken before the U.S. Department of Justice. Hallett and his family took their vows during a Naturalization Oath Ceremony on Feb. 3 at the Indianapolis U.S. District Court.
