AUBURN HILLS, MI – Audi will show just how much power you can wring out of a small, fuel-efficient engine when it unveils a 272-horsepower version of its 2.0L engine in a new variation of its TT coupe and roadster at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, according to The Detroit Free Press. The car will be called the TTS and will come with Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system as standard equipment. The new engine features an intercooled turbocharger, direct gasoline injection and reworked air-intake system to become one of the world's most powerful four-cylinder engines. The engine produces as much power as Audi's 3.2L V-6, but with far lower fuel consumption. Specific fuel-use figures and pricing will be available closer to when the car goes on sale in the United States in November, according to The Detroit Free Press. The TTS will also get a new quicker-shifting version of Audi's dual-clutch transmission and an adaptive suspension. The TTS will accelerate to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph. Cosmetic changes to the TTS include 18-inch aluminum wheels and a strip of white LED running lights beneath its headlights.
