Price Digests, a data analytics firm focusing on truck residual values and publisher of the Truck Blue Book, awarded the following trucks with its residual value awards:

  • The Isuzu NQR received the 2022 Highest Retained Value Award (HRVA) in the Medium Duty Crew Cab and Chassis category.

  • The Freightliner M2 106 was named top for the Medium Duty Conventional Cab and Chassis category.

  • The Chevrolet 4500 was named top truck for the Medium Duty Cabover Cab and and Chassis category.

The award was presented on October 23, 2022, at the American Trucking Association’s 2022 Management Conference & Exhibition in San Diego.

The HRVAs are a third-party industry recognition program that leverages residual values of commercial trucks to recognize those trucks that best hold their value, according to a release. Price Digests provides unbiased, data-driven residual analysis focused on commercial trucks with awards presented in nine categories within Classes 3 through 8, ranging from light to heavy-duty models.

Jessica Carr, Price Digests Director of Data and Analytics, says the impact of Covid-19 supply chain woes changed the trajectory of retained value, keeping it higher than in years past.  “This year, we’ve seen higher retained values across the board for Heavy and Medium Duty trucks.  We expect the supply chain issues to continue to keep prices higher than normal during the next two to three years, especially for heavy and medium duty commercial trucks, so the investments people and companies make in their trucks will remain high.”

Price Digests monitors new and used truck values each month, with data analysts updating its Truck Blue Book data to ensure accurate values, VIN decoding and specifications.

Isuzu NQR Features for Work Truck Fleets

The NQR Crew Cab features a GVWR of 17,950 pounds and offers 150- and 176-inch wheelbases to accommodate bodies from 12 to 16 feet in length. It is powered by Isuzu’s 5.2L turbocharged, intercooled four-cylinder diesel engine with four valves per cylinder, and direct injection. Like all Isuzu Crew Cab models, the NQR offers seating for seven, with room (and seatbelts) for four adults in the rear compartment.

“This is an incredible honor,” said Shaun Skinner, president of Isuzu Commercial Truck of America and Isuzu Commercial Truck of Canada. “It recognizes the enduring worth that Isuzu truck owners have enjoyed for decades. It validates the long-term quality, performance, and durability of Isuzu trucks. And it explains why Isuzu has been America’s best-selling low-cab-forward truck every year since 1986.”

The Isuzu lineup includes Standard Cab and Crew Cab Class 3 through 5 gasoline-powered trucks and Class 4 and 5 diesel-powered models. Isuzu’s new F-Series Class 6 and 7 models, powered by the Cummins B6.7 diesel engine, is available in Standard Cab configuration.

Freightliner M2 106: Ready for Upfits

The medium-duty Class 6-8 Freightliner M2 106 can achieve up to 360 hp and up to 520-1,150 lb.-ft. of torque with a GVWR of up to 66,000 lbs. Fleets can spec their M2 106 Plus as a straight truck or tractor with a day cab, extended cab, or crew cab. An all-wheel-drive option is also available to fit the needs of any unique application.

The M2 106 Plus is engineered to make upfit easier, according to the manufacturer. With clear frame rails and a configurable dash panel featuring more than twice the space of the previous model for switches, gauges, and indicator lights, it’s a versatile platform for customization. And with the powerful and easily configurable QuickFit Electrical System and Daimler CHEC Tool, the M2 106 Plus makes upfit even faster and more efficient.

Chevrolet 4500 Features for Work Truck Fleets

Powered by a Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V-8 engine paired with an Allison transmission, Silverado Chassis Cabs were designed with the driver in mind. The Chevrolet Silverado 4500 HD features a GVWR up to 16,500 pounds.

Additionally, Silverado Chassis Cabs are built with a robust single-piece frame rail for enhanced durability. They feature a wide range of cab-to-axle offerings for a variety of upfits† and a clean top-of-rail design to make upfitting easy. They come with a painted chassis that helps protect against corrosion, and a factory rear air suspension is available.
