Jaguar has begun a broad-based overhaul of its lineup by introducing its first of three new vehicles, the 2016 XF luxury sedan, at the New York International Auto Show.
Jaguar is remaking the XF as an aluminum-intensive sedan that will be powered by a choice of two supercharged V-6 engines with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The 3.0L powerplants deliver 340 hp or 380 hp through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
In its press release, Jaguar announced that it would offer a pair of diesel engines, including a four-cylinder version. These engines would likely be initially offered in Europe.
The XF increases its wheelbase by 2 inches to 116.5 inches. Jaguar will offer the XF in five trim levels, including the XF Pure/ SE, XF Prestige, XF R-Sport, XF Portfolio, and XF S.
