2020 Fleet Hall of Fame Inductees

2020 Fleet Hall of Fame Inductees

Honorees inducted into the Hall of Fame will be announced at the 2020 AFLA conference, which will be hosted virtually this October 5-7, 2020.

Three fleet professionals — Arthur Liggio, Gordon B. West, and Tom Callahan — have been inducted into the 2020 Fleet Hall of Fame for their contributions to the industry. 

Hall of Fame members are recognized industry leaders and pioneers who have contributed significantly to the commercial fleet management industry.

Eligible nominees must have at least 10 years of fleet management experience and are nominated by members of the industry.

The Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA) is the exclusive sponsor of AF’s Fleet Hall of Fame award. Since the award’s founding in 2008, honorees have been recognized during AFLA’s annual conference. The Fleet Hall of Fame was founded with 20 founding members. That same year, an additional 10 honorees were selected by the industry through online voting. Additional nominees are inducted each year, with three honorees currently inducted annually. 

For the first time in the Association’s existence, the 2020 AFLA Corporate Fleet Conference is shifting to a virtual format and will now feature its presentations and educational sessions online when it is hosted later this year on Oct. 5 – 7, 2020. 

Officially titled the AFLA NextGen 2020 Virtual Corporate Fleet Conference, the three honorees for this year will all be recognized in a virtual awards presentation on the final day of the conference.

Arthur Liggio
The CEI Group / First Advantage / Driving Dynamics

Liggio has dedicated more than 30 years to the fleet industry. He began his career in insurance and risk management and now serves as the CEO and president of Driving Dynamics. He has been guided by a passion for elevating awareness and improving the capabilities of all drivers on the road and with a focused commitment to helping organizations greatly improve their fleet safety performance.

Liggio joined Driving Dynamics in 2008 after spending more than 25 years in risk management, much of it in the corporate fleet industry. In addition, he has provided sales, marketing and strategic planning leadership throughout his executive career, helping companies introduce customer-valued services and achieve their growth objectives.

Before this, Liggio served as the chief architect of numerous safety, risk management and risk mitigation technologies now in use by thousands of fleet-based operations and insurance carriers. Before joining Driving Dynamics, he was a senior vice president with First Advantage. Prior to First Advantage, Liggio was the national director of risk and insurance services for The CEI Group.

Gordon B. West
NAFA / Pfizer

Gordon B. West served as NAFA President from 1991-1993 and then as Trustee – Past President from 1993-1995. 

His long list of service was recognized in 1995 when West received NAFA’s Distinguished Service Award – the Association’s highest form of recognition bestowed upon those with exemplary professional and personal contributions to the industry, society, and/or community. 

He retired from Pfizer, Inc. in October 2001 where he was corporate fleet manager. Within his 30 years with Pfizer, he also served as a divisional manager of Financial Operations, budget manager, as well as budget/marketing analyst.

In addition, he previously worked as Financial Analyst and Chief Accountant at Sterling Drug, Inc. and was an Accountant for Wilcox and Gibbs, Inc. A former instructor with the CAFM program, West was instrumental in developing the program’s finance and accounting section. 

Tom Callahan
Donlen / Ford / GE Commercial Finance

Callahan is currently president of Donlen, spearheading strategic direction, growth, and customer satisfaction initiatives. 

As president, Callahan sets the strategic focus and drives execution of key initiatives for all business operations. His attention to employee satisfaction, customer retention, and corporate culture ensures that Donlen’s customers remain completely satisfied with company performance.

Callahan served as AFLA president from 2012 to 2013 and is currently part of the Hertz senior management team.

He has deep roots in the automotive and commercial fleet industries. Callahan began his career at Ford Motor Company where he held various sales and management roles including field sales, merchandising, and operations.

Additionally, he held global leadership positions in general management, sales management, product development, quality, and operations in North America, U.K., Japan, and Australasia, with GE Commercial Finance – Fleet Services and GE Consumer Finance.
