SpotHero, a consumer marketplace and mobility platform for off-street parking in North America, has introduced SpotHero for Fleets, an industry-first parking-as-a-service solution. SpotHero for Fleets provides hardware, software, and services to help fleets secure, access, and pay for parking at scale.

The future of sustainable urban mobility relies on the growth of modern mobility options such as carsharing, ridesharing, and autonomous vehicles, making fleet management more critical than ever. By 2030, Deloitte predicts that shared vehicles will overtake personally owned vehicles in urban areas. As car-share fleets grow, companies are increasingly tasked with solving for complex parking needs at scale.

SpotHero for Fleets is a one-stop-shop for fleet managers to:

  • Source and secure parking inventory in high-traffic areas across multiple cities.
  • Pay-per-use across multiple parking facilities on one invoice to streamline payments.
  • Access gated parking facilities to provide more pickup and drop off points for shared cars.
  • Scale-up, scale down, and monetize underutilized spots during off-peak season.

Fleets today rely largely on curbside parking in select cities and ungated surface lots to park vehicles. Both options present challenges for drivers traveling to and from downtown central business districts, where fewer surface lots and on-street spaces are available. As cities move to further reduce the availability of on-street parking in favor of bike lanes and drop-off zones, access to off-street facilities is no longer a nice-to-have, but a critical component of doing business. SpotHero for Fleets gives shared cars access to core downtown garages near their destination, making carshare more accessible and reducing idle time for on-demand drivers.

SpotHero’s parking network offers more than 6,500 facilities across 300 cities with more than 40 parking access and revenue control integrations. In 2018, SpotHero was named to TIME’s 50 Genius Companies list, a curated collection of “businesses inventing the future.”

In the past few months, the company has announced strategic partnerships with consumer mobility apps such as Waze and Moovit and corporate clients such as US Cellular, Associated Press, and Caterpillar.
